Rewind

Well well this is my first day and I am on a roll with the 3rd blog of d day ..i am sure its an overdose for most of u...however behaving like any other normal carbonaceous bi-pedal i shall blog away in anticipation of appreciation...

i am enjoying my MBA: BPR bringing a 80% reduction in time and 67% increase in productivity ; SPSS used to run a Cluster Analysis; using DMAIC on an inscope problem; running an RFM Analysis; using Ratio Analysis to check a Balance Sheet; detecting Bullwhip effect in forecasting …….pause

I miss talking about the latest album by RHCP....critiquing Brave New World ....discussing Doestovesky...animatedly discussing the theme of Matrix d mvie ....listening to Stairway to Heaven sipping a chai in early hours of the morning after a night of three back to back movies ....

i miss soaking myself in lazyness and enjoying the feel of being completely shamelessly useless....

To cut a long story short ....an MBA gives u an opportunity to make pots of money; drive a swanky car; wear a tuxedo............at a tiny cost .....it makes u forget how to dream !

MBA DEGREE: the making of a BUMPER STICKER or a MANAGER

On my last drinking orgy i got into an animated discussion with two friends from d finance batch..the gist of the bawlings was that most people believe that the only good an MBA degree does is adds to ur C.V -->a passport to a managerial post....the feeling is quite widespread amongst working MBAs ,they keep telling me that the only learning an MBA gave them was work under pressure and stay up late nights nd offcourse the BUMPER STICKER... i feel thers much more to it...nerdy as i may sound( my CGPA sings a different story) thers is lot to learn...streams like Marketing and HR get a reputation of being FULL OF PHAFF but thats not true...I feel its these 2 streams than operations, finance, systems which make for the best learning from an MBA... MBA gives a structured way of thinking it enables you to use a framework to approach a problem using empirical success stories( stop smirking the line used above is not all in d air reread it )...a BCG or a GE Matrix a GAP Model or PEST/SWOT can always be applied to real life situations to verify what u think intuitively....the problem most of us have with subjects like Consumer Behavior, Human Resourse Planning is that we feel its all common sense ....True it is common sense but do we always remeber whats obvious?? Commonsesical as it may be their knowledge is a must...using others experience to reduce the mistakes we make is d short cut we inherit from an MBA degree QED

Preface

Does a blog require one? i have intended to blog for d past 6 months alas laziness nd ineptness to write have kept me away...i cant get myself to believe that people wud actually read nyones rantings and opnions for kicks...nyways i figured that instead of bugging my friends with my rantings ( especially after a couple of drinks) i shall let them float on the net hoping to find similar minded people ( a serious improbability-> my ideas r at best stupid)...so without further bukwas i set sail on a voyage of ramblings
